Level Up by Building Self-Confidence

Self-confidence is a trait that many of us have an alarming lack of. But, after the last three years that we’ve all been through together, a little self-confidence may be just what we need to move into 2023, poised and ready to tackle new adventures and challenges.

Join Mogressive’s 12-week coaching program.

Get your money worries under control.

If you’re like most of us, you took a huge financial hit during the worst of the pandemic. If you’ve yet to get back on track financially, now’s a great time to look at your finances. You can alleviate stress by having a savings safety net. Consider cashing out your equity or refinancing to reduce your monthly house payments. Other options here are to eliminate superfluous expenses, such as cable television and unused gym memberships.

Start your own business.

There are few things more empowering than taking control of your financial fate by launching your own business. Start by writing a business plan. You can find out more about how to start a company with ZenBusiness. Keep in mind that you don’t have to start out full-time, and you can lay the foundation of your new company in just a few hours each week while you continue to work and care for your family.

Pay attention to your posture.

According to American Express contributor Vivian Giang, you can exude confidence by paying attention to your posture, presenting yourself in a power pose when you speak, and maintaining eye contact with those whom you are addressing. This is one of those “fake it until you make it” situations, where looking confident can lead to feeling confident.

Travel by yourself.

You already know that getting out of the house on your own makes you feel relaxed and recharged. Traveling by yourself can have a similar fact but on a larger scale. The Oyster blog explains that you’ll have to do your research, look at ways to stay safe and keep attention off of yourself while you’re alone. However, the benefits far outweigh the challenges and include new life experiences, improved mental health, and better social skills.

Bonus tip - Accept your age.

One final thought here for those of us facing midlife is to accept where we are physically. We may not always like wrinkles, graying hair, and expanding waistlines. But, these are part of us just as our experience has made us who we are. Don’t try to hide behind heavy makeup or uncomfortable procedures in the hopes of holding onto your youth for a few more moments.Instead, embrace your age by taking care of yourself physically and mentally, and you may just find that there was confidence inside of you all along.

Self-confidence is important in our lives. It helps us at work, in our relationships, and when we need to rely on ourselves. It does not come naturally to everyone, and the pandemic certainly

had a negative impact on many of us. Whether you choose life coaching, starting a business, getting your money settled, faking self-confidence until you feel it, or taking a solo sojourn, everything you do to empower yourself will help you feel more self-confident than you were before you did it.
