The Complete Guide How to

Set & Achieve Year-Long Goals

Setting new goals for yourself and achieving them will bring about benefits that will be immediately obvious - like feeling more in control of your life and not being dragged around by events happening around you, or feeling good about yourself, knowing that you are doing something with your life.

People who have the discipline to set goals have, more often than not, controlled their lives more than those who don’t have goals. They've had a better sense of self worth and accomplishment. Setting goals allows us to refuse any pressures from our surroundings, which will lead to less stress and worries from living with the constant fear of failure or rejection.

What Questions do I need to ask myself?

  • Why do you want to reach these goals?

  • How do you want to feel when reaching these goals?

  • What outcomes will transpire if achieved?

  • What are the reasons why you want to achieve these goals?

    Really breakdown that last question

How I started & How I stay consistent

“Change your Expectations to → Appreciations→to Perception”

Tony Robbins said that, I just added the Perception at the end. I think it ties it all together.

If you set a 10 Star Goal, and land on an 8…I'm appreciating that 8 right away. Life can’t always go your way. So gimme that 8! I’ll take it, learn appreciation through perception

We get so comfortable living our extraordinary lives, we forget there is so much life out there. Complacency kills.

Fixed vs Growth Mindset, I’ll tell you right now, you’ll definitely need a Growth Mindset if you’re planning on setting year long goals. I would recommend starting to get into this type of mentality of “REVERSE ENGINEERING” everything…lol. Especially when you’re not quite 100% convinced or stuck in a quarry. What I mean by reverse engineering is, If setting One Year goals is too much to handle because you know yourself. Your not quite there yet. This is the time to implement the reverse engineering method.

Think BIG and SMALL when it comes to reverse engineering.

We know the “BIG” = year long goal

We know “SMALL” = daily goal

Does that make sense so far on the scale? Reach the extreme edges of both sides of the spectrum. (FYI, I use this all the time. Habit from having an engineering background)

Ok, now on this scale, Where would you place yourself?

SMALL—---------------------------------------------> BIG

How much can you handle right now?

Can you handle accomplishing Hourly Goals?

How about Daily Goals? Weekly Goals? Monthly Goals? Semi Annually Goals? Quarterly Goals? 6 Months out Goals? And lastly Year long goals?

Reverse Engineer and pinpoint where you feel  most comfortable to start, and work your way from there. Only you can answer that question, based on how much time and energy you are allocating for yourself growth and development.

Don’t focus right now on Achieving the Goal, focus on conditioning yourself for the goal if you don’t have the motivation to accomplish goals yet.

The best part- there is a solution for everything & everyone. The only way you’ll figure that out, is if you figure you out first.
